The essence of our music lies in its profound spiritual and cultural heritage. Rooted in the rich traditions of Classical Turkish Music and the Mevlevi Rites, our performances are a journey into the heart of Sufi mysticism. This music, which dates back to 1300 A.D., is not just an auditory experience but a bridge connecting us to the divine and to each other.
Our repertoire is deeply influenced by the teachings of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi and other Sufi masters, whose poetry and philosophy emphasize love, tolerance, and the unity of all beings. The intricate melodies, rhythmic cycles, and poetic lyrics of our music are designed to elevate the soul, encouraging a state of inner peace and reflection.
At Sufi Meshk Ensemble, we strive to preserve the authenticity and purity of this ancient art form. Through meticulous practice and heartfelt performance, we aim to share the timeless beauty of Sufi music, inviting our audience to experience its transformative power.
